How to hack impossible design challenges

Norman Foster

If you specialise in interior design, this scenario will be all too familiar: you are working on the interior design of a property. The project has already been approved but your client, who is not 100% satisfied, asks you for "something different".

What this "something different" is, only he or she knows, of course. What's more, besides not being able to explain to you clearly what they want (I mean, you are meant to be the designer!), they change their mind every five minutes, leaving you with the arduous task of interpreting their indications.

All of this, it goes without saying, without incurring in any extra costs and respecting the rigid constraints imposed by the walls and installations which have already been added.

So, as I was saying, if you have been responsible for the interior design of a space, this situation must sound quite familiar to you.

Well, here comes the good news.

At Ronda Design, we have devised a solution that solves this kind of problem with a system that combines flexibility, modularity, functionality and, of course, gives you state-of- the-art design.

The solution I would like to talk to you about is based on magnetism: as a matter of fact, this is why it is called Magnetika.

Magnetika is a furnishing solution which consists in applying a metal panel to the wall; this panel becomes modular thanks to a wide range of magnetic shelves that range from simple, minimal shelves to more original, refined ones.

In addition to the shelves, you can also count on a wide range of accessories such as mirrors, coat racks, all of which are magnetic, and therefore moveable and interchangeable.

Basically, not only can you fully change the appearance of your wall by simply moving the shelves, but you can also improve them in the future by applying new shelves or integrating existing shelves with the accessories of our collection.

As a matter of fact, Magnetika isn't just a bookcase; it's a universal wall design solution to be used in the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom and the sleeping area, in order to make even the less appealing corners of the house pleasant and functional.

For example, think about the entrances to properties, which are getting less and less spacious, but more and more cluttered.

There where there is no space for a “classic” bookcase or shelves, Magnetika comes to the rescue with an infinite range of solutions.

Here are some Magnetika solutions:

Bookcase with magnetic shelves in a villa

BOOKCASE WITH MAGNETIC SHELVES IN A VILLA

Shop with plates in natural iron and magnetic shelves

SHOP WITH PLATES IN NATURAL IRON AND MAGNETIC SHELVES

And what if your client really doesn't want the metal surface to be seen? In the articles to come, I'll explain how we got round this issue with solutions that we brought to the 2016 Salone del Mobile, Milan, which were met with the enthusiasm of the professionals.

See you soon!
